A business matter has come up unexpectantly which means I can’t attend Blog World Expo. I already called Dave Taylor, the lead organizer for the event, so he’s aware that I’ll be MIA. I’m not one of those types to “break up” over email, Twitter or instant messenger, so I picked up the phone instead.
I was looking forward to meeting people like Debbie Weil, Andy Wibbels, Scott Allen, Des Walsh, Toby Bloomberg, Amy Gahran, Steven Van Yoder, Denise Wakeman and Sherman Hu. People I’ve been networking with online for the past 3-years who I would finally meet in person.
I was also looking forward to catching up with old friends such as Scott Bourne, Lee Gibbons, John Havens, Mark Juliano, Alex Lindsay, Chris Brogan and Maggie Fox.
But alas, it’s not meant to be. So, I’ll watch from afar. We’ll catch up at another event in the future.
Update: Jason Van Orden, author of Promoting Your Podcast, will be taking my place on the panel and solo session this Thursday. Jason, you rock!
Leesa – Blog World was awesome; but the very best for me was meeting the friends I too have been reading and networking on line with for what seems like a lifetime. And to catch up with folks like Amy. Next year!
You were missed! It would have been so good to meet up in Vegas. Connecting offline with so many hitherto virtual friends and colleagues was a very special part of the experience for me. You *have* to be there next year!
Leesa, I enjoyed meeting you and Jason Van Orden at the Podcasting and New Media Expo in September. It got me excited to go to Blog World Expo, but, alas, my seminar attendance limit has been hit for 2007. I hope to attend next year!
Hey Lisa – so sorry you couldn’t make it, but seeing as we’re in the same city, I hope we can catch up on this coast sometime soon!

Bummer, Leesa! I was looking forward to meeting you there!
