Loved your points in this video! People focus on attaining cheap labor, ala free, yet they don't admit all bartering and internships come with an investment of time. And time is money to an entrepreneur. The constant imbalance and turnover can ultimately impact your long term growth.

Wow thanks Leesa! Fantastic insights on this! I never thought of it as an balance! We truly need to honor everyone for their gifts and expertise in the very same way we want to be honored for what we bring to the table in terms of our talents and expertise! Thank you this was very helpful! Loving #WBIB2013

I've had success with bartering and recommend it as long as it is very clear upfront what service each is providing and within what timeframe. Its also important to know the value that you ascribe to what you are giving and what you are getting. When you leave it to chance, its very likely one side will end up feeling taken advantage of. You don't barter forever but it can be helpful to entrepreneurs starting out with no cash.

Yes, bartering always creates an imbalance. I remember one in particular where I was supposed to provide podcast consulting in exchange for business coaching. I showed up, did what I was supposed to do and the coach was so utterly picky. After I completed my tasks, she said that she couldn't provide me with coaching because she's going in another direction. All that work…so that's why I NEVER barter. Ever. Such a bad idea.

Amen. Bartering always creates an imbalance. Need to create a billboard with that one.
