This is #3 of 4. Outsourcing or delegating tasks to a virtual team can do wonders for business owners, ministry leaders and marketplace prophets. I should know – I’ve used virtual assistants and virtual teams in my business since 2005. Whenever I do, my business has grown ten-fold because I operate in my strengths and outsource my weaknesses.
I was going to call this series Outsourcing Myths Revealed or Little Lies Ministry Leaders & Business Owners Tell Themselves About Outsourcing (feel free to use either titles), but both titles force me to focus on lack.
Since I operate best when I focus on abundance, I chose the title Why Every Business or Ministry Must Have a Virtual Team for this series. A special thanks to Tina Forsyth and her special report The Top Five Reasons Every Business Must Have an Online Business Manager for influencing this series.
So, here’s Reason #3 of 4…
#3 – A Virtual Team Makes Sure Things Get Done
How many ideas are sitting in your head or have been typed up in a Word document saved on your computer? How many information products, virtual bootcamps and workshops have you attended where you wrote down your master plan, but you have yet to put it into action?
Too many business owners, ministry leaders and marketplace prophets have ideas in various stages of completion and they’re losing money because they didn’t know who to ask to help them transform those ideas into income.
Being busy or distracted is often the excuse used by business owners, ministry leaders and marketplace prophets as to why they can’t hire a virtual team. Here are the excuses I hear:
- “No one can ‘do’ my business or ministry as good as I can.”
- “This is my business, my ministry, my heart. How can I give it up to someone else?”
- “I have to write up a job description, then post it to a freelancing website – and I don’t even have time to do that.”
- “I can’t delegate my phone calls or emails because the stuff that comes in is so sensitive.”
- “I attended a course on doing [insert internet marketing strategy here], so I don’t need to hire anyone to do what I can just do myself.”
These excuses are only doing one thing – it’s separating us from God’s will.
The Enemy Loves a Busy & Distracted Faith-Driven Business Owner, Ministry Leader & Marketplace Prophet
King Saul, the first king of Israel, was distracted.
Instead of focusing on God’s purpose for his life, King Saul let jealousy and hate dictate his actions. King Saul had disobeyed God so many times that God anointed David, a shepherd boy and not one of Saul’s sons, to become the next king of Israel.
King Saul’s hate towards David grew so much that David had to flee. King Saul went in pursuit with the intent to kill his rival. In 1 Samuel 23:26-28, Saul is busy chasing David and almost closes in when a messenger comes to King Saul saying that the enemy is raiding the land. Saul breaks off his pursuit so he can take care of the menace.
In King Saul’s case, because he was distracted and busy trying to kill his rival, the enemy took that as an opportunity to steal what was best in the land.
What about us?
What is the Enemy (Satan) stealing from you because you’re too busy with tasks that you were not blessed to do? How are you robbing God of the purpose you were born to complete because you’re distracted with getting a website launched, designing a logo or answering emails (among other tasks)?
Your virtual team helps you by getting things done so that being distracted or busy is no longer an excuse. That’s why a good virtual team is essential to your ministry or business – they help you stop losing money and start spreading your message – the way God intended it to be.
