I’m listening to one of the most energetic and motivating speakers ever – Ramon Williamson. In just 10-minutes, he encouraged everyone in the room to make the Coaching Super Summit their turning point. We chanted it over and over. I had goosebumps just listening to everyone repeat it.
The 100 or so coaches in this room are experiencing their turning point. They are shortening their success timeline by being here, networking with other coaches and discovering new techniques. Being in this room has helped me to chrysallize my own process and how I want to help more podcasters make money.
I was one of the lucky ones to get a signed copy of Milana’s book Coaching Millions: Help More People, Make More Money, Live Your Ultimate Lifestyle. I stayed up until 2am reading her book and making notes. There will be lots of changes in what I’m doing as I too want to make my coaching millions.
Which brings me to my point.
If you’re not attending conferences, if you’re not networking and if you’re not investing in your own business by paying for your own travel, accomodations and conference fees, you will never experience your turning point. Never. You will continue to make the same mistakes over and over, not knowing how to break through them so you can experience your own breakthrough.
If any of these excuses below apply to you, read my suggested solution.
- If it’s money holding you back, I’ll share with you a strategy I use to afford my taste for travel. I reserve 10% of my income in an education fund. Every dollar that comes into my business, I set aside 10% for education. I got this idea from T. Harv Eker’s book called Millionaire Mind.
- If you’re afraid that you won’t know anyone when you go to an event, I challenge you to attend any podcasting event. If Chris Brogan is there and you’re sitting or standing alone, he will appear and introduce you to about 10 other people. Podcamp Boston is coming up. So is the Podcast and New Media Expo. I’ll be at both. Find me and I’ll connect you with others.
- If you don’t have credibility in your field, you have to show up at the events in your industry. You have to. Trading business cards, speaking to others and being visible all help you to raise awareness of who you are.
- If you don’t know how (or hate to) follow up, get online, find people’s blogs and join the conversation. Bryan Person, one of the organizers behind the very first Podcamp, has been referred to as a Social Media Stalker. God, that guy is everywhere. It’s hard to forget Bryan because he shows up, comments on people’s blog and podcasts and fosters relationships online. It’s a wonderful way to follow-up.
Any other tips on how people can experience their own turning point?
