Recession Proof Your Business Hosting a Virtual Event, Part 2

by | Apr 14, 2009 | Virtual Events & Telesummits

Hosting a virtual event is one of the best ways to make money. I have earned 5 and 6 figure paydays hosting virtual events. Whether you hold an event over the telephone or using webinar software, you can attract leads and become a sought after leader in your niche hosting a virtual event.

In Part 1, I shared with you 3 benefits to hosting your own virtual event – no travel, reach a global audience and time shifted learning. If you want to review that article, click here to read it on my blog.

Here are some of the benefits of why you should host and facilitate a virtual event for your business:

Benefit #4 – Inexpensive.

With virtual events, you can spend as little as 10% on expenses. After you purchase a conference bridge line or rent the webinar software, the rest of the money you earn from a virtual event is all profit. On some teleclasses, I spend as little as 5% of revenue on expenses.

Even with my telesummit which is an 8-day virtual event, my expenses never exceed 30% of total revenue. Typically with non-virtual events, you can expect to break even or take a loss. This is what makes virtual events so attractive to host and facilitate.

Benefit #5 – Gain visibility faster.

If you’re struggling to get noticed in your industry, hosting a series of virtual events helps get you visibility fast. Every time someone sees information about your virtual event, whether it’s on a blog or on a press release, your name is prominently displayed. You’ll also get to rub shoulders with the movers and shakers in your industry as you invite them to speak, exhibit or sponsor your virtual event.

Benefit #6 – Leveraged Income.

Hosting a virtual event is the fastest way you can create information products without having to author them yourself. By recording your teleseminar or webinar, you can then turn it into additional income streams. For example, you can transcribe the recording and sell it as an individual product or you can include the recording in a membership website. You can develop multiple income streams from just a one hour recording.

In just 2 days, I’m going to announce my most comprehensive product to date. It’s my step-by-step blueprint on how you can use virtual events to practically make 5 or 6- figures overnight. I’ve done it and I want to teach you how to do it too.
