Just wrapping up a few loose ends for Podcamp Toronto, a meetup happening this weekend at Ryerson University that will connect newbies and experienced podcasters.
I organized this event along with Jay Moonah, Mitch Joel, Brent Morris and Julien Smith. I’m anxious to see the fruits of our labour. There are so many people who are coming out and to name whom I want to meet will turn this post into a mini-novel.
But with 270 registrants, 40 sessions, a handful of sponsors and a few media mentions – all without doing any advertising – shows that:
- No matter what type of connection you build with someone online, nothing can take the place of face-to-face contact.
- If people really feel connected to your brand or company, they will promote your event, products or services for you.
If you’ll be in Toronto and you won’t be doing much this weekend, head on over to the Podcamp Toronto wiki and add your name to registrants list. Then, find me and say hello.
