Amber MacArthur, who has done a wonderful job of using her video podcasting background to segue into an on air host job at City-TV, is doing a segment tonight for Remembrance Day.
Yours truly was interviewed about my Keep the Poppy On campaign, an effort to encourage everyone to wear their red poppies after November 11th. Why am I doing this? You can find the answers in the FAQ section of the wiki.
There’s 3 ways to watch the segment.
- Live on TV. If you’re in Toronto, the piece will air tonight at 7pm EST on CP-24 (Rogers Channel 24) and on City-TV throughout western Canada. The program is called CityNews International and Amber’s segment is called World Wide Web.
- Live online. If you’re not in Toronto, you can watch the program live online at 7pm EST by going to the City-TV website, then click on Video News Directory on the top navigation bar, then CP24 Live Feeds in the sidebar.
- Recording via a feed. The unedited interview will appear on Amber’s video podcast called Inside Popnology. You can copy and paste the feed into your favourite podcatcher and you’ll get the recorded interview.
Now, you may not care that I’m appearing on television and that’s okay. But there are 2 reasons why my experience can help you in building a buzz.
- It proves that focusing on a niche topic is more interesting than a broad subject.
- And, having a rapport with someone will open doors faster than just one-offs.
I’ll elaborate on both points in future posts.
