I was asked a rather intriguing question on Twitter by themediamaven. It was so intriguing, her question prompted my video response below.
First, here are her questions:

Hmmm….how do I answer themediamaven?
I was going to write a tweet to respond to her, but my answer would need some explaining. You see, I don’t believe it’s as simple as “go where the CEOs are, read what the CEOs are reading.” That’s too simplistic.
In fact, there’s something unique about me and my experiences that I have to share first before I give themediamaven the answer to her rather thought provoking question.
So, I had to take a step back and ask myself:
“Why do people listen to me?”
Is it because I have a loud voice? Is it because I can afford the tools that give me a voice? Is it because I made a conscious decision to stand out? Or, is it because of something in my background that influences my willingness to be heard?
