Do You Believe In You?

On the 7th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, I watched a show that was based on eye witness stories. There was one account of a man who stopped to help another man who was sitting on the stairs.

According to the eye witness, the man sitting on the stairs had given up on getting to the ground floor. The gentleman who stopped to help him tried to encourage him that there was much more living to do.

The eyewitness, the man who stopped to help and the man who was sitting on the stairs eventually reached the elevator. The mood of the man who was sitting on the stairs picked up. But then, he lapsed into his negative thoughts, stating that he gave up a career in teaching, that he was not supposed to be a day trader and that they were not going to reach the ground floor.

Unfortunately, his prediction came through. The eye witness left the 2 men in the building on the 40th floor and neither were seen again.

The man sitting on the stairs decided his fate by not believing in himself. He chose instead to focus on why it wasn’t worth living instead of trying to make it out of the burning building.

Do you believe in yourself, your dreams and your business? If not, you are creating your own results using your mind. In his book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind, Dr. Joseph Murphy states that belief is more than a ritual, a formula or a ceremony.

Belief is a thought in your mind that causes the power of your subconscious to be distributed into all phases of your life according to your thinking habits. All your experiences, all your actions, and all the events and circumstances of your life are but the reflection and reactions to your own thought.

To begin believing in yourself and your goals, I’d like you to repeat this affirmation each night before you fall asleep over the next 3 nights. Replace the word God with whatever higher being you believe in (eg. the universe, Creator, Allah, etc.):

The perfection of God is now being expressed through me. The idea of a profitable business is now filling my subconscious mind. The image God has of my business is a perfect one and my subconscious recreates my goals and my business in perfect accordance with God’s will.

    Wow Leesa,
I am so glad to see your inclusion of this concept. It is in complete alignment with all of the powerful mind-set work I have been doing over the last three years. And the interesting part is that just recently, I had a big mind-set breakthrough around some limiting beliefs I had been holding and almost immediately afterwards, a wealth of powerful business ideas, connections, and resources (you being one of them I might add ☺,)came rushing to me. Exciting stuff!!!
