While at the Coaching Super Summit over the weekend, I grabbed a picture with Milana Leshinsky (with the red shirt on left).
She’ll kill me for telling you this, but I’m about 4-inches taller than her. I took off my heels and Milana stood on her tippy-toes just so we could stand shoulder-to-shoulder for the picture. We had loads of fun doing this.
I made alot of observations while at the conference over the weekend. Many. Here’s just a few.
You Are Who Follows You
I thought podcasters were the most friendly bunch I have ever met. Always laughing, always smiling and enthusiastic about everything. The 90 or so coaches and consultants I met at Milana’s event were similar to podcasters – laughing, smiling, upbeat.
The people who I met this weekend at the Coaching Super Summit are a direct reflection of Milana. Over the past 2-years, Milana has developed products and services to help more coaches run their businesses on autopilot while making insane amounts of passive income. Since she runs an honest ship with tons of high quality products, it comes as no surprise that her fans are equally as honest, upbeat and high quality.
Empty Your Vessel
While facilitating the Hot Seat portion of Day 2, I encouraged everyone to empty their vessels. That way, they will be open to receiving new and interesting ideas.
Too often, we approach events as if we know-it-all. We interrupt the learning process because what we’re hearing is beneath us. Or worst yet, it goes against everything we’ve been told to do, so we resist it. In this case, your vessel is full and it will take something tragic that will force your vessel to empty. A death in the family, bankruptcy, a layoff, are just a few things that will shake your foundation and force your vessel to tip over.
While your misery is one way to develop your message, you should instead aim to empty your vessel prior to attending a workshop, seminar or conference so you can hear and take action on innovative ideas.
Everyone Is a Rock Star
Have you been to an event where the speakers arrive right before they speak and take off right after they get off stage? Or, maybe the speaker only has time to answer the questions asked by those who bought his or her package?
Well, at Milana’s event, all the speakers stuck around for a couple of days to answer questions and just to interact with attendees. Even though the speakers commanded the stage, once they stepped off of it, they were humble and helpful.
Not just that, but attendees treated each other like rock stars. They supported each other, masterminded with each other and provided feedback on ideas. The buzz in the air was electric and I was amazed at how eager everyone was willing to help one another.

Hi Leesa….I thought that was going to be our secret! 🙂
You were amazing as the “hotseat” leader, brought a great spark to the entire event. Plus, gave me a breather when I needed one – thank you for being there! You’re awesome!
Ditto to the above. I was amazed at the generosity of all the attendees, especially you. When you could have slept in, you were in the room at 7:00am helping your fellow coaches prepare for an impromptu recording session. And you stayed with them every step of the way, including missing lunch. I know that it was greatly appreciated. I can see why you are so well known and respected in the field of podcasting and recording. I look forward to hearing more from you.
Gregory Anne, I have to say that you have the most interesting name ever.
Thanks for the kudos. Milana’s event helped me to understand my own strengths and who I work best with.
And yes, I almost gave away my shoes. The only person who was interested in them was…oh, I’ve forgotten her name. She was in the front row and her name started with C. Hopefully, she’ll pop by my blog and reveal herself.
Hey Leesa,
You got it so right when describing the feeling of support and jazz that we enjoyed at the conference. It rocked and I hope to see everyone back there next year. The information was invaluable if we use it and Leesa is just wonderful.
For those of you who don’t know her or her work, get to it!
She is funny, a wealth of information and generous with it.
Oh and by the way, she is prone to giving away shoes, size…..okay, I’ll keep it to myself.
Best,
Greg
