Be in Joyful Anticipation

You may have noticed that I’ve been talking ALOT about virtual events lately, huh?  Well, if you missed my event this past spring, then you may not know that outside of podcasting and social media, virtual events are a passion of mine ever since I hosted my first one in 2003.

There are many things I love about virtual events, however, I was a bit nervous about teaching others my process. Not because I don’t know my stuff, but because this is a topic that has little to do with technology.

Ever since I launched my first online business in 1998, I’ve prided myself with being a closet geek. I love walking into a room off geek guys and watching their eyes widen with wonderment as I rattle of all the latest tech terms that only us geeks could understand.

However, after winning an award earlier this year for excellence in technology, I felt that my purpose was bringing me on a different path. So, I fasted and prayed for a number of days asking God to direct me.

By listening, I got very clear on my path. God showed me – in a rather bold and deliberate way – where I needed to go. After having content on 1 of my sales pages swiped for the third time in a 24-hour period by yet another inexperienced virtual event organizer, I launched my Virtual Event Marketing Blueprint.

A handful of some of the most amazing people on my list signed up for this 6-week virtual course. I poured everything I knew into this program. I shared my entire process and I didn’t hold back.

The results?

  • One of my students experienced a 1600% increase in attendees for her virtual workshop. This was a learning event she had canceled once before due to low enrollment and only relaunched it to put my process to the test (it worked).
  • Another student had 88 **paid** registrations sign up for her virtual event as soon as she uploaded her sales page. Let’s just say she made back more than 10x what she paid for my blueprint.
  • Yet another student, who had been struggling with her own purpose, has now decided to get into the business of helping others create their virtual events.

Why do I share this with you?

Because results often show us where our purpose lies. Sometimes that Higher Power is nudging us in the direction we need to go, but we ignore it because it doesn’t fit our dreams. Or, we’re afraid of what people will say if we change course yet again. Or, we’re fearful of success, failure, whatever.

Your purpose has been clearly outlined for you. The Higher Power you believe in – whether it’s God, Allah, the Universe – designed a path for you that’s orderly, purposeful and full of abundance. It’s time to let go of the distractions, the worry and the frustrations and instead, wait in joyful anticipation of where your purpose is taking you.

Podcasting and social media are still near and dear to my heart. I’ll be hosting my very last Social Media Telesummit in 2010 and my team and I are readjusting a few things so I can still be of service to you if you need podcasting & social media advice.

However, it’s time for me to walk in my purpose. I know too much about hosting virtual events **the right way** to keep all these golden nuggets to myself. I invite you to join me on this fun and profitable ride 🙂

Have fun and be Marketing Fit!
